Jason Grant, the new Manager of the Cultiv8聽Agricultural Sandbox, is excited to be back on campus.
Jason joins an awesome team at Cultiv8 which includes Assistant Coordinator Holly Fisher and past manager Jolene MacEachern. Holly deserves much credit for keeping Cultiv8 in action over the summer and getting the program ready for the best student experience this fall. Although Jolene has taken on new responsibilities on campus with the office of Industry Liaison and Innovation, she will continue to be involved in Cultiv8 as an advisor and student mentor.
With a BSc.(Ag) majoring in Plant Sciences followed by an MSc. spent experimenting in green roofing atop the MacRae Library, Grant is no stranger to the Dal AC.
Of his return, Grant said, "It's really nice, welcoming, I've missed the people and the campus a lot; I feel very privileged to have such a wonderful opportunity."
As an entrepreneur who created a gourmet food business, PepperHead, which combined his passions for locally-sourced, sustainable agriculture and food creation, Jason has much experience with ideation, creation and implementation in the value-added agri-food industry.
Drop by Cultiv8鈥檚 open house on Tuesday, September 19th between 4-6pm to meet Jason and see the exciting program line up for the fall!
