Elevating international astronomy research and infrastructure
We’ve embarked on a transformative $34.7M partnership with the National Research Council to expand the Canadian Advanced Network for Astronomy Research (ExCANFAR). This seven-year initiative (2024–2031) positions Canada at the forefront of international astronomy by enabling our participation in the SKA Observatory—which is building the world's largest radio telescopes in Australia and South Africa. .

Registration for the Research Data Management Jumpstart is open now until April 9. This week-long workshop will introduce attendees to best practices in research data management (RDM) using common tools to support research transparency and reproducibility. Robust implementation of RDM principles enables researchers to address bias and reproducibility, effectively share their research, and ensure long term access to their research inputs and outputs. From research question development to findings dissemination, RDM underpins a fruitful and successful academic career. The RDM Jumpstart is fully remote and running from May 12 to 16, 2025.
