Biography

Joanne Newell is an Adjunct Assistant Professor with 欧宝体育, School of Nursing teaching in the BScN program, Yarmouth campus. Joanne has completed both her undergraduate and Master of Nursing degrees from 欧宝体育 and has enjoyed a 36-year career in nursing education. Her passion is teaching professional and ethical practice, pathophysiology, and nursing care for those living with episodic and persistent diseases. Joanne has served as an academic advisor to nursing students throughout her career and enjoys supporting learners as they transition from student nurse to graduate nurse.

Joanne has been involved in Interprofessional Health Education since its inception at 欧宝体育. She has facilitated many interprofessional health education experiences and has been involved in other unique interprofessional learning initiatives within the School of Nursing and Faculty of Health. Joanne is passionate about advancing interprofessional education and collaborative practice (IPECP) at 欧宝体育 and has aligned her scholarship work around IPECP.
