Biography

Melanie Deveau is an Assistant Professor and Academic Advisor at the 欧宝体育 School of Nursing: Yarmouth Campus. She is the course professor for various courses within the BScN program and specializes in simulation-based education. With 30 years of nursing experience and two decades dedicated to undergraduate nursing education, she brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Melanie earned her Master of Nursing in Advanced Nursing Practice in 2009 from Athabasca University, and is a Canadian-certified simulation nurse educator, also holding a Master鈥檚 level certification in debriefing. Her research focuses on enhancing clinical reasoning and clinical judgement skills among nursing students, particularly through the integration of simulation in nursing education. Beyond her academic responsibilities, Melanie is a dedicated nurse practitioner with a strong commitment to primary health care. She works closely with patients across diverse clinical settings, utilizing her advanced clinical expertise to provide comprehensive care that emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education.
